L: it depends, the question always changes. therefore, the question is always, what is the question? then the tool becomes self-explanatory. or the opposite, through the tool, you start to find answers. And with those answers, you formulate the questions. This is important too.
q: Why do you previledge the Bee's eye view?
L: architecture is problematic when it suggests an overly anthropomorhic view of the world. This is fine if it works toward empathy, but more often than naught it becomes a tool of erasure: air-con, for our personal comfort, makes us forget our relationship with the ambient environemtn. Concrete is great for cars, but it also makes us forget about soil, and with soil, a whole other ecology is effectively maimed from our perception of the world, a perception formed in part by architecture.
Imagine this: if a high-end luxury residential is designed such that views of poverty are specifically framed, wouldn't this remind them of problems they could contribute toward? on the flip side, it could just make them extend erasure toward the slum itself. that is also problematic, but that is not the fault of the architect.
