and i think i said something very smart today- "fuck! this is the end of a rigid academic career! and dont need to wear bloody fucking polyester uniforms ANYMORE!!!"

i'm at justin's house now... and i am drunk. wheeee!!! this is what i call. The Life. not hte getting drunk part, the whole deal. finishing the A's, running about like an ass then getting drunk! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

bruce i still follow your blog! and its still as poignant as ever. i like your Wednesday, November 19, 2003 entry alot. 'Then there are things we hang on dearly to- you would know it is a beautiful life.'

and jok i loved what you wrote about loving and being loved. its very true. and see you soon.

the funniest paper has to be the Physics Design paper. for those who don't know, the student is presented with a problem and is supposed to design a experiment to find the relationship/value at question. so one can imagine all the funny things we invent to try and solve the problem. but yk has to take the cake... to determine the energy of a bow (and arrow) set up, his solution was to "use an expert archer". As a safety precaution, "ensure he wears body armour".
and that is only one of the multitude of answers we students give. I bet the markers at cambridge draw lots to see who can mark the design questions cuz its such a popular choice.

its official. I'm addicted to GunBound. Go download it and say good bye to life beyond the computer! its kinda like Worms.

exams do funny things to people. We're in the 3rd week of the A levels and today serena (who sits behind me) kept singing "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, once i caught a fish alive..." to herself. anyway. its over tomorrow. da da dum.

Do what I want cause I can and if I don't because I wanna be ignored by the stiff and the bored because I'm gonna.

so a hoarde of pillaging ruggers* piled into my living room to watch the rugby finals and wa heres a tip always have a can of air fresherner ready. australia lost and i am sad.

drunken fun at lum's house thereafter but alas such events are best left untold.

(*total food damage- 1 kg of sausages, 4 big bags of lays chips, 9 litres of peach lemonade, a baf of frozen fries. then off to dinner after that. tada.)

oh let me teach you yeow-kuanese. (he supported australia)

its really quite easy-
"FUCK YOUR MOTHER YOU MOTHER FUCKER!!!"
"FUCKING HELL YEAH FUCK YOU YOU MOTHER FUCKER!!"
"FUCKING CHEEBAI!!!!!"
"YEAH BABY FUCKING CHEEBAI TAKE THAT YOU MOTHER FUKER!"

then he runs low on ideas...
"FUCK YOUR FUCK LA!"
"OH MY FUCKING FUCK!"

and finally, he is out of ideas...
"OH FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!"

as tzi commented, yk uses those phrases to express a whole plethora of emotions- joy, sadness, happiness, envy, shock, dismay, disgust...

its a wonder he doesn't get straight A's for GP with his powerful vocab huh?

omg... its wednesday! and i thought it was tuesday. eeps.
omg! is it christmas season already?!

They're already playing seasonal jingles in the shopping centres but still it feels like the J3's have just enlisted (that would make it... jan/march). I'm caught in a timewarp! HELP! and soon i'll be enlisting but i'll be like "huh its time to enlist?! but the J3's just enlisted!!!"

damnit. soon i'll be thirty and still living in the basement of my parent's house and making silly faces in mirrors to amuse myself.

i need that magic potion from outta Alice in Wonderland. 'Drink Me!' it'd read and when i glug it down whoosh i'll grow bigger and bigger or was it the other way around and i'd shrink?

yikes.

2003-11-17

i feel sad when i visit my blog now. the past few entries have been very dry and boring to say the least and it reminds me how boring this period is. ladeedah. almost over. its kinda odd, cause now i've one paper this week and 2 next week, so its very spread apart and hence things feel kinda chill. i doubt i'll feel especially ecstatic after the final paper of the 27th cause it already feels like its over.
whatever happened to colin farrel?

and i am quite looking forward to having to shave my head when i enlist.

KANIAH BEH CHAO CHEE BAI!

the french played like bloody headless chickens. even i could've kicked and caught the ball better and thats saying a hell lot about how badly they played. honestly!!! a fuckin up and under which goes a total of a few metres?!?!?! and the kicks for goal... ALL OFF THE MARK! wa lao.

i hope australia wins the world cup. the english play rugby thats balls boring man.
and so the final count yesterday was about a dozen burly ruggers packed into my living room to watch the NZ-Aus match, and contrary to popular belief, it wasnt a very rowdy affair save for two noisy dicks shouting "CHEEBAII AH WA FUCKING NABEH!!! DID YOU SEE HIM GET SMACKED?!?! FUCK YOU AUSTRALIAA!!!" I won't mention names (yk and tzi yang), but you two are fuckin noisy haha it was fun.

and big whoop to australia's victory yest. NZ played like headless chickens haha i hope france wins today what a finals it would be... french flair vs australia's rock solid defence.

oh mama i broke my napping record today... feeling like a king right now! first it was the pre-nap-marathon warm-up napping at 11.00 because i slept at 1 yesterday night.

I woke at 2 pm... and then proceeded to eat my pre-nap-marathon nutritious meal of maggie mee and half a steamed chicken. i think my maid stole the other half... but never mind i forgive her because today is a special day... where i was gunning for sporting glory. Go for Gold!

At 2.30 pm after doing some stretching and psyching up, i took my redspot chem tys out and started reading TOPIC:6 Electrochemistry in order to make myself fall asleep. it was very effective... i started reading "1.(a) Describe how you could determine...." and blacked out... next thing i knew it was 3.30pm! i woke up to switch the fan on.... and went back to continue my marathon. looking at the tys, "1.(a) Describe how you could determine...." next thing i knew it was 4.30pm! man was i still going strong!! At that point in time i was getting excited because i sensed a new record coming... so i took out the tys again and started reading "1.(a) Describe how you could determine...." and man next thing i knew... it was 5.30pm!!! woohoo a new record!!! i am currently at the pinnacle of sporting achievement and i challenge anybody to break my record. And in order to round off a very well-spent day i decided to keep with tradition and finish reading the question that i started off with early in the afternoon "1.(a) Describe how you could determine a value for the Avogadro constant by electrolysis."

oh well at least i can say i did something today

29th nov - zouk, 22presale, 25 at the door, i think
and 3 dec chinablack.

i am quite sick of this. everytime i get together with yk and the others, when the subject of prom comes up, it inevitably leads to the post-prom party. at induz3. costing $30. and we will bitch and bitch and bitch.

so im here to ask. yehui or daniel if you're reading this let me just set somethings straight. i dont have anyhting personal against either of you, but i do have something against paying $30 for a pseudo club like induz3. can you please tell me why? i mean. if you have justified reasons then i can only shrug my shoulders. but if its to cash in on post prom, WHY WHY WHY? what this is is an example of allocative inefficiency. so please. for the sake of pareto optimality. dont overcharge.

2003-11-14

lijing, leon, isaac, timo, dickson, frodo, lum and whatever other dumbfucks i left out (im too lazy to type it all out), if you're reading this... tomorrow come my place watch rugby semis.

i wont just fritter my time away tho... my holiday plans.

the time is nigh
its do or die.

heres our swansong baby.
nights before an exam paper i cannot sleep. not that im excessively stressed or anything its juist i cannot sleep. i lie there in the dark and my eyes feel like out of the Clockwork Orange scene where they are held open with clips. so i'm getting quite tired now but thank goodness theres a break after thursday.

today i took a very vigorous shower. i scrubbed and scrubbed and exfoliated and conditioned and moisturized and i think kyle would be proud of me. =)

econs essay and maths 1 today. not that they were exceptionally hard, but you know how it is when you try to predict an essay's worth. and to quote joan- 'maths was suspiciously easy'.

while going home, i was eating a bowl of chengteng*, i realized i had developed a taste for the ginko nuts. In reflection, it wasn't a sudden development, more a gradual one.

so i started thinking about changing tastes. when i was a kid, it was a simple enough situation. The Sweeter The Better. i heaped spoonfuls of sugar into my milo, and cereal was also accompanied with sugar. With burgers and what naught, it was ketchup.

but now, its more a question of subtle flavours and interplay. like. i remember hating beer! *PUI* but now its like the sweet nectar of the gods. and i better appreciate stronger cheeses, foie gras, almonds and my steaks are now without ketchup. and there is such a thing now as too sweet. I still cant appreciate wine, but most grown men do.
so it leads me to believe that as we age, we develop a more complex and subtle palate.

i fear i may acquire a taste for shit by the time im 60.

2003-11-08

i've been so bloody bored i've resorted to thrashy quizzes and 'evaluations' like this. noelle, the results say that we are 84% compatible. shit. i hope this doesnt mean we'll get married. but i like you all the same. (its mutual, ya?)

pretty soon i'll be watching tvMEDIA. "this is the ginzu knife!!! blba bla bla..." god help me!

So thats 25% of my grade down the hole, so i can just hope hope hope and someone else can pray for me too.

when noelle's driving, i'm in the habit of playing CD 5 Track 10. That is the Neptunes- half-steering. then, i would bomp and bump along to it and mouth whatever lyrics i know of it (which is a grand total of 'walking around... my head facing downn...' and 'citrus') and hop around the seat and play drum on my thighs and what naught, and today it occured to me that should any driver look, it would appear that i am having a seizure. coupled with the fact noelle drives very ernestly (to put it lightly) and somewhat unprofessionally (that is understating), it would look like she is trying to rush me to a hospital or something.

on an unrelated note, it also struck me that when guys say something sweet or nice to their girlfriend like during their anniversary or before they propose, they (more often than naught) go - "thank you very much for being there for me, and putting up with all my nonsense, and supporting me no matter what and bla bla bla." I think that is quite silly, because chances are you yourself are doing the same for her. And, how bad one get? (Noelle, reserve your comments please. thanks.) So, next time, should the occasion for me ever arise, I am going to go - "It's okay. You're Welcome."

today i studied in school and what i missed was that after doing a chapter or something, i would usually play a nice tune on my com should i be at home and bipbop around my room for a bit. today's highlight was while in ghim moh with yk and lil one, we sighted this girl with the MOST AWESOME PAIR OF KNOCKERS. i swear! its like... not ginormous, neither was it too small. it wasnt to saggy but it wasnt too perky. it also wasnt to close together or far apart. (i.e. the valley between the bosom was just right) in short, it was perfect. i wanted to go up right there and then and poke it.

chinese B syllabus exam tomorrow. i can only laugh. because of the hopelessness of the situation, and my resignation to it.

2003-11-05

The crux of the day is at 3 p.m. Before that, it feels like the day is still young. and you study at a leisurely pace, occasionally getting up from your seat to play a nice song and prance around the room. Then 3 hits. and its a whole new ball game. 'Oh no! the better part of the day is lost!' and things heat up and you sit your ass down to study study study till 6 and oh yay! its time for the Simpsons!

So the tv and the newspapers tide you over till 8, Just Shoot Me! has just ended and again you go 'oh no!' but this time it isnt so dismal you also say to yourself 'the night has just begun! a night of STUDY!' and so you retreat back to your hovel and study study and oh my where did time fly to its 11.

Cardinal Sin according to the Gospel of Lennard- Studying Past 11. yup. That is a big no-no, because if you study on, you sleep later, and then you wake up lateR and the cycle repeats and before you know it its the day of you're A levels but Oh Fuck!!! I overslept!!!

So at 11 its time to go take the frozen banana you put in the fridge in that morning, suck on it then attend to matters of personal hygiene and its personal time usually spent reading a story book (yes i like calling it Story Book. Its so quaint) till 1230 and its lights out and good night to every little person may you sleep tight.

of course, once the exams are over, it will be a case of how we only come out at night, cause the days are just too bright. we'll only come out at night.

there. i have blogged a 'what i did today' entry.

'... But evidence suggests that economic theory explains some suicides. The economists proposed that the value of a life might be calculated the same way we value companies: Measure all the happiness a life might contain, discount it by the cost of achieving that happiness, and if the net present joie de vivre is less than zero, suicide is a viable option.

Previous studies had demonstrated that as personal incomes rise, the propensity for suicide falls (presumably, money does buy some happiness). Marcotte's insight was that individuals contemplating suicide do not just choose between life and death. Rather, they choose between three alternatives: life, death, and the gray area of unsuccessful suicide, which may be negative (expensive injury and permanent disability) or positive (a "cry for help" that elicits attention).

The resulting formula contains a somewhat paradoxical conclusion: Attempting suicide can be a rational choice, but only if there is a high likelihood it will cause the attempter's life to significantly improve.

Marcotte couldn't test the relative "life improvement" of successful suicides—since they were, of course, dead—but he could study those who had failed at suicide to determine if their lives improved after the attempt. The results are surprising. Marcotte's study found that after people attempt suicide and fail, their incomes increase by an average of 20.6 percent compared to peers who seriously contemplate suicide but never make an attempt. In fact, the more serious the attempt, the larger the boost—"hard-suicide" attempts, in which luck is the only reason the attempts fail, are associated with a 36.3 percent increase in income. (The presence of nonattempters as a control group suggests the suicide effort is the root cause of the boost.)

Why should suicide be an economic boon? Once you attempt suicide you suddenly have access to lots of resources—medical care, psychiatric attention, familial love and concern—that were previously expensive or unavailable. Doubters may ask why the depressed don't seek out resources earlier. But studies have demonstrated that psychological and familial resources become "cheaper" after a suicide attempt: It is difficult to find free medical care when you are sad, but once you try to kill yourself, it's forced on you....'

- an excerpt from The Economics of Suicide

omg omg omg! the elite models are so fuckin hot. i hope to one day cluelessly wander into a photoshoot of theirs and they'll go - 'awwwww heres a cute lil' lost boy!' and they'll all fawn over me like a lost kitten. some of them are what... 14? 15? and they look bloody 20 something! ee. compare a 14 year old there to a 14 year old here!

i can only hang my head in dismay...

p.s: yea yea i know. we guys dont cut it either. bah.

2003-11-03

this one's for you sandra!

i havent blogged in a bit because well... i didnt think you'd wanna be regaled with stories of how 'today, i got stuck at qn 4 doing the hwa chong paper. how how. im butt fucked'. of course, thats not going to happen because
1) thats just plain boring!
2) I never did any hwa chong paper (they are insane!)

so instead... let me tell you about my skincare... which is in shambles! warning! never use Clean&Clear Deep Cleansing Action! My skin feels as tho it has been exfoliated with a bloody cheese grater. i dont know what to use. how. and i cannot leave this problem unchecked if not in a few days pop pop pop pimpleville. any suggestions... sigh.

hmm taht aside. there is 'Are You Hot?' tonight! thrashy as it is, it is a must watch! i wish there were more svelte guys on the show.... so far most of them are nothing but cow-sized hunks of beef, which is... eyuch. you know there are leg guys and ass guys and boob guys. im wondering whats my poison. i mean. a nice full bosom is a thing to behold (in every sense of the word!), while longg slender legs are droolsome. but a lovely ass. ayeyaiyai! esp now with pant lines going lower and lower and skirts riding higher and higher! I still remember my first formal Ass Appreciation session, taught to me by Syl with Ching as the subject.

"look at it lennard! its not too round and it doesnt sag. its perky but not too out there."
"aahhhhhhhhh...."

so would that make me a wholistic person?
