i am quite sick of this. everytime i get together with yk and the others, when the subject of prom comes up, it inevitably leads to the post-prom party. at induz3. costing $30. and we will bitch and bitch and bitch.
so im here to ask. yehui or daniel if you're reading this let me just set somethings straight. i dont have anyhting personal against either of you, but i do have something against paying $30 for a pseudo club like induz3. can you please tell me why? i mean. if you have justified reasons then i can only shrug my shoulders. but if its to cash in on post prom, WHY WHY WHY? what this is is an example of allocative inefficiency. so please. for the sake of pareto optimality. dont overcharge.

econs essay and maths 1 today. not that they were exceptionally hard, but you know how it is when you try to predict an essay's worth. and to quote joan- 'maths was suspiciously easy'.
while going home, i was eating a bowl of chengteng*, i realized i had developed a taste for the ginko nuts. In reflection, it wasn't a sudden development, more a gradual one.
so i started thinking about changing tastes. when i was a kid, it was a simple enough situation. The Sweeter The Better. i heaped spoonfuls of sugar into my milo, and cereal was also accompanied with sugar. With burgers and what naught, it was ketchup.
but now, its more a question of subtle flavours and interplay. like. i remember hating beer! *PUI* but now its like the sweet nectar of the gods. and i better appreciate stronger cheeses, foie gras, almonds and my steaks are now without ketchup. and there is such a thing now as too sweet. I still cant appreciate wine, but most grown men do.
so it leads me to believe that as we age, we develop a more complex and subtle palate.
i fear i may acquire a taste for shit by the time im 60.

when noelle's driving, i'm in the habit of playing CD 5 Track 10. That is the Neptunes- half-steering. then, i would bomp and bump along to it and mouth whatever lyrics i know of it (which is a grand total of 'walking around... my head facing downn...' and 'citrus') and hop around the seat and play drum on my thighs and what naught, and today it occured to me that should any driver look, it would appear that i am having a seizure. coupled with the fact noelle drives very ernestly (to put it lightly) and somewhat unprofessionally (that is understating), it would look like she is trying to rush me to a hospital or something.
on an unrelated note, it also struck me that when guys say something sweet or nice to their girlfriend like during their anniversary or before they propose, they (more often than naught) go - "thank you very much for being there for me, and putting up with all my nonsense, and supporting me no matter what and bla bla bla." I think that is quite silly, because chances are you yourself are doing the same for her. And, how bad one get? (Noelle, reserve your comments please. thanks.) So, next time, should the occasion for me ever arise, I am going to go - "It's okay. You're Welcome."
today i studied in school and what i missed was that after doing a chapter or something, i would usually play a nice tune on my com should i be at home and bipbop around my room for a bit. today's highlight was while in ghim moh with yk and lil one, we sighted this girl with the MOST AWESOME PAIR OF KNOCKERS. i swear! its like... not ginormous, neither was it too small. it wasnt to saggy but it wasnt too perky. it also wasnt to close together or far apart. (i.e. the valley between the bosom was just right) in short, it was perfect. i wanted to go up right there and then and poke it.
chinese B syllabus exam tomorrow. i can only laugh. because of the hopelessness of the situation, and my resignation to it.

The crux of the day is at 3 p.m. Before that, it feels like the day is still young. and you study at a leisurely pace, occasionally getting up from your seat to play a nice song and prance around the room. Then 3 hits. and its a whole new ball game. 'Oh no! the better part of the day is lost!' and things heat up and you sit your ass down to study study study till 6 and oh yay! its time for the Simpsons!
So the tv and the newspapers tide you over till 8, Just Shoot Me! has just ended and again you go 'oh no!' but this time it isnt so dismal you also say to yourself 'the night has just begun! a night of STUDY!' and so you retreat back to your hovel and study study and oh my where did time fly to its 11.
Cardinal Sin according to the Gospel of Lennard- Studying Past 11. yup. That is a big no-no, because if you study on, you sleep later, and then you wake up lateR and the cycle repeats and before you know it its the day of you're A levels but Oh Fuck!!! I overslept!!!
So at 11 its time to go take the frozen banana you put in the fridge in that morning, suck on it then attend to matters of personal hygiene and its personal time usually spent reading a story book (yes i like calling it Story Book. Its so quaint) till 1230 and its lights out and good night to every little person may you sleep tight.
of course, once the exams are over, it will be a case of how we only come out at night, cause the days are just too bright. we'll only come out at night.
there. i have blogged a 'what i did today' entry.

'... But evidence suggests that economic theory explains some suicides. The economists proposed that the value of a life might be calculated the same way we value companies: Measure all the happiness a life might contain, discount it by the cost of achieving that happiness, and if the net present joie de vivre is less than zero, suicide is a viable option.
Previous studies had demonstrated that as personal incomes rise, the propensity for suicide falls (presumably, money does buy some happiness). Marcotte's insight was that individuals contemplating suicide do not just choose between life and death. Rather, they choose between three alternatives: life, death, and the gray area of unsuccessful suicide, which may be negative (expensive injury and permanent disability) or positive (a "cry for help" that elicits attention).
The resulting formula contains a somewhat paradoxical conclusion: Attempting suicide can be a rational choice, but only if there is a high likelihood it will cause the attempter's life to significantly improve.
Marcotte couldn't test the relative "life improvement" of successful suicides—since they were, of course, dead—but he could study those who had failed at suicide to determine if their lives improved after the attempt. The results are surprising. Marcotte's study found that after people attempt suicide and fail, their incomes increase by an average of 20.6 percent compared to peers who seriously contemplate suicide but never make an attempt. In fact, the more serious the attempt, the larger the boost—"hard-suicide" attempts, in which luck is the only reason the attempts fail, are associated with a 36.3 percent increase in income. (The presence of nonattempters as a control group suggests the suicide effort is the root cause of the boost.)
Why should suicide be an economic boon? Once you attempt suicide you suddenly have access to lots of resources—medical care, psychiatric attention, familial love and concern—that were previously expensive or unavailable. Doubters may ask why the depressed don't seek out resources earlier. But studies have demonstrated that psychological and familial resources become "cheaper" after a suicide attempt: It is difficult to find free medical care when you are sad, but once you try to kill yourself, it's forced on you....'

this one's for you sandra!
i havent blogged in a bit because well... i didnt think you'd wanna be regaled with stories of how 'today, i got stuck at qn 4 doing the hwa chong paper. how how. im butt fucked'. of course, thats not going to happen because
1) thats just plain boring!
2) I never did any hwa chong paper (they are insane!)
so instead... let me tell you about my skincare... which is in shambles! warning! never use Clean&Clear Deep Cleansing Action! My skin feels as tho it has been exfoliated with a bloody cheese grater. i dont know what to use. how. and i cannot leave this problem unchecked if not in a few days pop pop pop pimpleville. any suggestions... sigh.
hmm taht aside. there is 'Are You Hot?' tonight! thrashy as it is, it is a must watch! i wish there were more svelte guys on the show.... so far most of them are nothing but cow-sized hunks of beef, which is... eyuch. you know there are leg guys and ass guys and boob guys. im wondering whats my poison. i mean. a nice full bosom is a thing to behold (in every sense of the word!), while longg slender legs are droolsome. but a lovely ass. ayeyaiyai! esp now with pant lines going lower and lower and skirts riding higher and higher! I still remember my first formal Ass Appreciation session, taught to me by Syl with Ching as the subject.
"look at it lennard! its not too round and it doesnt sag. its perky but not too out there."
"aahhhhhhhhh...."
so would that make me a wholistic person?
